A perfect way for the younger set to spend a few hours on a Sunday learning the ancient art of Soapstone Carving with Peter Martin. The project will be student choice of either a small loon or a penguin. (Penquin smaller than shown in photo.)
You will be asked to pre-select your project (small loon or penquin) when registering so that Peter Martin can prepare the rough cut soapstone. Registration deadline is September 11 for the same reason.
Material cost of $15.00 is paid to the instructor.

Meet your instructor
Peter began the serious pursuit of his former hobby when he retired in 2007. Since that time he has developed his skills by creating small and medium size works of art in several different varieties of Soapstone and Alabaster with considerable success.
His inspiration comes primarily from nature but he also likes to re-create more whimsical pieces that will be sure to bring a smile to those who choose to purchase his work…
