Draw Paint Create Online with Artist Todd Tremeer (16+)
May 27 – June 17, 2021
Thursdays, 6:00 – 9:00 pm on Zoom. 4 week session.
Explore the craft of drawing and painting with artist Todd Tremeer. Apply the rules of perspective, light, shade and texture to make original art at home through online instruction. Use and combine your favorite art tools: pencil, ballpoint pen, pencil crayon and watercolor paint. Learn to select the best tool for the job. Pencil is best for careful linework; charcoal and watercolor is good for fast dark shading. Discover how and why pencils come in different hardness. Each 3 hour session will balance between short focused skill-building exercises and one or two sustained multi-week ‘long drawings’. To take advantage of online learning, look for Youtube links and jpegs in your email a few days prior to each online session. Through these links Todd will show you historical artists technically or creatively related to the week’s lesson. Todd is also eager to share favourite online documentaries related to specific artists and their creative process. We hope you will join Todd for this class series.
This drawing class is a continuation of a class already begun. The 5 – 6 adults in this group include people new to drawing; others have some art experience. We have been starting a new drawing each week. Each week has a specific focus (perspective, portraits, copying photos, drapery etc).
Come join us and draw—no previous drawing experience required.
