I’ve always been drawing and painting since I can remember. I started off studying Fine Arts at the University of Ottawa and then transferred to The Ontario College of Art in Toronto where I’ve always wanted to go. They had the top designers and illustrators in Canada teaching there back in the ’70’s and an illustrator is what I wanted to be. Graduated after four years of studying illustration and design in 1982 and became a freelance illustrator for the next 35 years working for book and magazine publishers and advertising agencies as well as corporate clients.

I Starting teaching in 2005 and have enjoyed it ever since. It’s fun and a privilege to share what I’ve learned from my instructors and from experience as well. I think it’s our job to pass it on. I enjoy keeping my classes fun and comfortable. Beginners are always nervous to try and afraid of making mistakes, but I make sure that everyone is comfortable and they soon realize that we’re all in it together and we’re all making mistakes, having fun and learning to paint.
