Short Story Contest for Adults and Youth

As you may know A Gift of Art supports and promotes all the Arts includes writing and books. To provide a service to those people isolated at home we are offering a short story contest.
First prize will be $200.00 with second and third prizes $50.00 and $25.00 respectively.
There will be small honoraria for best submissions from school age people in the following age categories: Grades 1 to 5, Grades 6 to 9, and Grades 10 to 12 (and under age 20).

Your short story submission should be a maximum of 2,500 words with no minimum. No specific topic or theme – just your story.
There is a $5.00 entry fee. (See details below).
Deadline for contest entries – midnight April 20, 2020.
Your submission must include a cover sheet with the following:
- Your name
- Your age or grade if under 20
- Your address
- Telephone number
- The Title of your piece
When your story is submitted to the judges the cover sheet will not be included. Your entry will be given a number which will be recorded on the cover sheet which is retained at the gallery and on the copy submitted to the judges.
Contest results will be posted on our website by the middle of May, 2020.
Each piece must be original, unpublished, not submitted elsewhere for publication or broadcast, not accepted elsewhere for publication or broadcast, nor entered simultaneously in any other contest or competition for which it is also eligible to win a prize.
You may enter as often as you like.
Winning entries will be published online and in our newsletter.
