The Wilderness Gourd is a piece of gourd art that is made by using Lagenaria and hard-shell gourds as a wood-like surface. Gourds may be carved, painted, sanded, burned, dyed, and polished. The Wilderness Gourd takes form in a tall decorative bowl. The rim of this gourd is sewn with red beads. The sides of the gourd has bears with trees craved and painted onto the bowl. The bear on this design has intricate detailing such as; each bear has a red bead to match the rim inside gourd. Each bear also has golden details to complement gold stripes on the design.
