Nuthatches Feast

$120.00

ARTIST:
Bronwyn Gauley

Nuthatches Feast is an acrylic painting which shows a Nuthatch Bird eating seeds on tree bark. These small birds are notorious for their loud chirping, putting nuts into tree bark and then opening them with their bills. Which is where the get their names from and is also what the Nuthatch is doing in this painting. Most species have grey or bluish upperparts and a black eye stripe. The colour of their feathers is a central point I this painting, as everything around the bird has stunning depth in the blue tones. This accentuates the Nuthatch as the yellow in the nuts and seeds pop with the colours it’s surrounded by.
