Eel’s Lake Afternoon

This painting depicts a lake in Ontario called Eels Lake, which is located between the Haliburton Highlands and Kawartha Lakes of Ontario. This painting perfectly displays the calming aura of Eels Lake. The painting is centred around the trees on the lake with deep greens and textures of the pines and leaves through brush strokes and tone variations, which can also be seen on the rocks. The trees are reflected into the lake water that is a lightly coloured blue along with complimenting the bright sky.
